It’s almost time! …10th June

June 12, 2018

Today was another glorious day that just had to be spent by the river.
As I was accompanied today, it was to be a much more relaxed and genteel affair than my last couple of outings.

There were plenty of little Trout around today but there were a few monster Grayling caught on both nymph and dry fly.

The Grayling clearly haven’t read the local bylaws as they are out of season for at least another week. We tried our best to avoid them by targeting the more ‘Trouty’ looking water but their confident takes and feisty battles suggest that they are fit and recovered after spawning and are starting to feed hard again.

This is a great time to fly fish as both Trout and Grayling take full advantage of the summers abundant insect life.
