Always trust the locals….25th November

December 1, 2017

A tough but most enjoyable day fishing for Grayling as guests of The Peacock Fly Fishing Club.

Snow, wind and rain all tried (but ultimately all failed) to dampen our spirits and the slightly high and coloured Derbyshire Wye proved a challenge.

With the Hanak International Grayling Festival planned for this weekend, many top competition anglers were out preparing today and the majority of them struggled as the melting snow caused the river temperatures to plummet. By all accounts, we faired quite well with all of our party managing to put a few good fish in the net proving again that there is no substitute for local knowledge on really difficult days.

A special thank you to Irene of 1womanflyfishing and the legend that is Chris Worthy for their invitation, hospitality and guidance.
