BFFI 2018 … 10th February

February 11, 2018

The British Fly Fair International was held this weekend. It’s a great precursor to the impending Trout season and gives us frustrated Grayling anglers a chance to whinge about what a hideous season we’re having.

It’s also a great place to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. Oh, and they sell stuff too! Most of the top manufacturers of fly fishing tackle are represented and it is an opportunity to meet and watch some of the worlds best flytyers.

A particular hero of mine is Hans van Klinken, the designer of the legendary ‘Klinkhammer’ emerger. Not only did I get to spend some time with him, I am now the proud owner of a set of his most famous and successful patterns.
