Grayling and Grouse…4th December

December 6, 2017

An evening meeting in Corwen means either travelling across during the rush hour or making a day of it and having some time on the river Dee. Sadly, during the winter months the latter involves a period of down time between the end of the fishing (around 4pm) and the start of the meeting at 7pm. Hmmm, what to do … what to do!

As the lower beats of the CADAC waters were used for the Hanak international at the weekend, I felt it prudent to head further up river. Lots of good Grayling were caught and with the weather set to take another turn for the worse, I stayed until last light. In fact it was so dark that the flash on my camera activated on the last few pictures.

It was about that time that I had another flash, one of genius! This evenings meeting was to be held in the Grouse pub in Carrog. “I wonder if they have food and drink in that pub?” I asked myself.

For those of you who were worried about me and all of that spare time, you’ll be pleased to know that they did!

What a stroke of luck, they even sold beer!
The Robin whisperer strikes again!
