Ladies day …. 18th August

August 19, 2018

In stark contrast to Friday’s Fly fishing ‘Man-fest’, Saturday was the annual meeting of the “Chinny club”. The name is of course an amalgam of Chiara and Ginny, her ex colleague and occasional angling buddy and is in no way meant as a reference to the amount of ‘chinwagging’ that occurs!

My role here is to offer angling advice… should there be a break in the conversation.

We started the morning session with real purpose and after a little guidance, some very good fish were caught on dries.

As expected however, the fishing was a mere diversion and I strongly believe that the only reason we went was to give us an opportunity to come back for the mammoth lunch.

There was a lot of food!

That said I really enjoyed my picnic, thank you ladies!
I also enjoyed it for tea that evening and breakfast the following morning!

There was a half-hearted ‘paddle’ in the water after the banquet but their hearts weren’t really in it so I was allowed to sneak off for 45 mins of fishing whilst the girls “caught up” and planned next years menu.

All in all, quite satisfactory!
