Third time unlucky … 29th September

September 30, 2017

Today was Day 3 of my quest for one last good Urban Trout of this season.

When I arrived at the river today it looked promising. The level had dropped 20 cms and the clarity was good. The sun was shining and early mornings rain appeared to have made little impact.

After a fruitless 10 mins, I noticed a few extra items floating down the river and the colour starting to change. The earlier rain was making its way down from the hills of the upper Goyt valley and the river was on the rise again.

Within minutes it was virtually unfishable but there was still a chance…until the heavens opened.

At this point, I accepted defeat and waved ‘so long’ to this years Trout season.

Looks promising…
That’s it, I give up!
